Fotomaratón 2014

Smile, doggy.
Those green-suited figures you're seeing around this weekend aren't space aliens sent to spy on us. They're competing in Bogotá's annual Fotomaratón, organized by the Fotomuseo. Participants have 48 hours to snap the most attractive, interesting, original or exciting photo.

How the Fotomaratón folks can be sure that the pictures were taken during this weekend is beyond me. But I do know that I see them everywhere - particularly in the most obvious places, like Plaza Bolivar, where countless photos have been taken before.
An original shot on Plaza Bolivar?

A note to potential camera thieves: Don't mess with those green-vested folks. Those vests are actually bulletproof.

Who's that photographer in the forest?
